Bush calls our constitution "a goddamned piece of paper"

On his show last week, Mike Malloy on Air America made referance to an article at Capital Hill Blue.com. The following remarks are from an article by Doug Thompson concering GOP leaders trying to reason with Bush about the patriot act.
GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.
“I don’t give a goddamn,” Bush retorted. “I’m the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way.”
“Mr. President,” one aide in the meeting said. “There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution.”
“Stop throwing the Constitution in my face,” Bush screamed back. “It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”

How could anyone, let alone the president of the US, be so callous when speaking about our constitution, our laws, and our rights? Our appointed president put his hand on the bible and swore to uphold and protect the constitution. It is quite obvious to many of us that Junior does not take the bible any more seriously than our constitution. Get your head out of the sand! If you believe what Bush says simply because he claims to be born again, you might want to take a closer look at religious history. Are all who claim to be believers and quote from the scrupture true believers? I think not. Whose moral values do you want to follow?
More to follow on moral values at another time. Next podcast will be posted within a couple of days.
