Wake Up AMerica Podcast show#17
This week: Iran, the bomb, and an insane President. - As much as Cheney and Rove would like it, Joe Wilson won't go away (and neither will Fitzgerald) - Kerry FINALLY admits that voting with Bush was wrong (too bad he didn't see the light in 2004) - After phone jamming, rigged voting machines, and voter intimidation, Ohio's Ken Blackwell has "earned" a shot at the Governorship. - The immigration movement, which party stands to gain? - And Russ Feingold proves very capable of taking on Fox news. This could be the guy that has it all come 2008!

Wake Up AM goes explicit - now there's no going back! : )
Funny show, and also very informative, which is what I like so much about you guys.
I think sanctions might work with Iran, but it's hard to know. It would have to be a concerted effort by the whole world. I don't know what to do about the Iranian president, he's almost as crazy as Bush. I have no doubt that Bush is ready to bomb them at any moment.
Imagine if we spent $2-4 trillion dollars in the southern U.S., New Orleans and Mexico to create jobs for the all potential immigrants instead of using it to destroy and rebuild Iraq.
Sanctions against Iran is of course
preferable to nuking them, but why do they deserve to be singled out for persuing a nuclear power program? And even if they intend to someday build a bomb, why should they be prevented and not Pakistan, India, Israel, or us for that matter?
Of all the countries why is the United States focusing on Iran right now?
I think it is because they are the next chess piece on the board for the neocons. With their oil and strategic position on the map, Iran represents the next prize in this war of conquest conducted in the name of the "war on terror". Why aren't we concerned right now with North Korea instead? They already are a nuclear threat. The reason is, I think, it's not their turn yet. Once the U. S. secures the middle east they will have their sights set on Korea in an effort to surround Russia and China.
There are only 20 years of oil left and the neocons plan on grabbing all they can in an effort to weaken their rivals to superpower status.
I personally don't think they will succeed because the sane people of the world will prevail. But between then and now who knows how far they will go?
Just a bit of Easter cheer to consider. We plan on going to Fenway Park tomorrow to celebrate. It's the perfect excuse to get out of another
awkward religious holiday with family.
I hope you enjoy your day and and I continue to look forward to your blog entries and each and every podcast.
Onward.
Brian
