Wake Up AM Podcast show # 54

This week:
2006 - The Year in Review.
It started out dark (so dark that we started podcasting as our only way of fighting back) but thanks to all of us, we the people that is, we enter 2007 with some light at the end of the tunnel and some hope for salvaging what is left of our democracy. This year could go down in history as a milestone for America. Join us as we look back on the rollercoaster ride that was 2006!

Wake Up AM Podcast show # 53

This week:
Half our show gets blown away in a technical mishap,(If you happened to be listening live on the streaming version of our Low Power FM broadcast you heard it all, if not it's probably about to leave our solar system, so wave goodbye) but the glass is still half full of Wake Up AM listening entertainment.
I honestly forget what exactly this show is about and don't have the time to review it
(holiday pressures) but it's a good one right up until the mishap. Enjoy!

What's the matter with Harry?

Harry Reid, our (sometimes less than) fearless Senate leader, has said he would support increasing troop levels in Iraq. He then qualified his remarks by stating he agrees to a troop increase only if it will not be for an extended period of time.

Yahoo writes: "If the commanders on the ground said this is just for a short period of time, we'll go along with that," said Reid, citing a time frame such as two months to three months. But a period of 18 months to 24 months would be too long, he said.

What kind of guarantee does he want from the idiots in the White House? Don't tell me he is expecting the administration to make a promise and stick by it. Common sense says fat chance, Harry! Time to wake up! Don't you know these guys by now? How long have you watched this administration operate? How many more years will you let this go on? It is not as if you were born yesterday, so what is with you? How many more times are you going to let them screw you and all of us? It is time for the babysitter to set some limits and how about imposing some discipline while you're at it? Their dangerous and stupid behavior must be stopped before our military is completely ruined.

Reid goes on to say: "The American people will not allow this war to go on as it has. It simply is a war that will not be won militarily. It can only be won politically."

What the hell is he talking about? "It can only be won politically." What the *#@*%? No Harry, this war cannot be won militarily or politically. Give it up. Stop playing politics with the lives of our soldiers and bring them home NOW!!! I don't care what the political consequences are for either party. Let the chips fall where they may. This is no time for political posturing. You can do that after the troops are home.

That same Yahoo article also looks at Powell's point of view: Powell said that U.S. troops should not act as policemen. He described the active U.S. Army as "about broken," with a shortage of equipment, officers going on repetitive tours and gaps in military coverage elsewhere in the world. "The current active Army is not large enough and the Marine Corps is not large enough for the kinds of missions they're being asked to perform," he said. "And the Congress has a serious task ahead of it, to make sure that the Army and the Marine Corps get the funds they need to sustain themselves and to sustain their equipment and their ammunition."

I got news for you too, Colin. Cutting off the funding is the only way to stop this maniac, Bush, from continuing to perform his demented satanic ritual in Iraq. For some reason, people seem to be forgetting that Bush took us into Iraq by choice not necessity. If funding is cut for his war, then the troops come home and it won't hurt them to come home. If the administration can't use the funding wisely then cut the allowance.

Senator Reid, please stop this craziness now. You must oppose the increase of troops and cut off all funding until our men and women are out of there. Bush has blown this whole thing from the beginning. Because of his sinister policies, he blew any hope we may have once had of someday living in a more secure world. If you go along with this increase in troops and funding, you condone his behavior and only postpone the inevitable while more troops die being asked to do the impossible. I beg you, please stop the madness, NOW!
