UN Out of Bounds Examining U.S.

One of the most outrageous statements of the week was reported in the Washington Post regarding the UN Human Rights Committee Report. Washington Officials claimed the UN rights panel was “out of bounds in examining US practices outside the United States” when they requested the Red Cross have “prompt access” to all detainees and demanded the US close all detention centers. Meg

Top Secret Lethal Bacteria produced in MD.

A new building is going up near Washington at Fort Detrick in Maryland. However, there will not be a lot of public fanfare when the final nail has been pounded even though the total cost has been reported to be somewhere around $128 Million. It will please you to know that all of us will be much safer due to the activities scheduled to take place inside this building and we can all breathe a little easier knowing it is all being done under the guidance of Michael Chertoff, the man who leads the team at our very own Department of Homeland Security.

This is all supposed to be very secretive and I probably shouldn’t be telling you anything more about it, but what the heck? I’m going to anyway. After all I’m sure Homeland Security would want you to know the steps they are taking to keep us safe from those horrible terrorists who attack sovereign countries killing innocent people without feeling any kind of remorse. How could anyone be that evil?

Okay, are you ready? Drumroll, please...Our brand spanking new building will house the new National Biodefence Analysis and Countermeasures Center or NBACC for short. We will be producing and stockpiling some of the worlds most lethal bacteria and viruses. The whole project will enable scientists to simulate biological terrorists attacks in top secret. The entire area will be heavily guarded and all those nasty germs will be kept inside hermetically sealed chambers.

So see? We don’t have to worry about a thing thanks to our leaders and the Department of Homeland Security. After all, we are the United States of America and protected by professionals who know exactly what needs to be done to ensure our safety(and fatten their wallets). You don’t just have to take my word for it. Even the director of homeland security research and development, Maureen McCarthy said so. She recently shared this with a reporter, “Our job is to ensure that the civilian population of the country is protected, and that we know what the threats are."

Oh yeah, don’t be concerned about the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention of 1972. Just because we agreed not to “ develop, produce, stockpile, or otherwise acquire or retain” biological weapons doesn’t mean it is still binding. After all that was a long time ago before our country was brutally attacked by terrorists. Besides, it was signed by that crook, Nixon, and we all know what happened to him. The rest of the world will understand why we must break this agreement just like all the others and I’m sure it will be a slam-dunk for our Attorney General, Gonzales, to find excuses to get us out of this one also.

I don’t know about you, but I think, so what. We might have made that agreement with the rest of the world but what have they done for us lately? Do they think we have already forgotten that most of them would not help us in our fight against terror in Iraq? They just don’t seem to be listening to us anymore. I wonder why. Any ideas? Meg

Rice's Surprise Visit

Condoleeza Rice made a surprise visit to Lebanon to "discuss" the situation with Prime Minister Fouad Siniora. You can read the New York Times article here

In that article, there is a description of an interesting encounter some irate Americans had with Karen Hughes.

During a refueling stop in Shannon, Ireland, Ms. Rice’s aides ran into a tired and angry group of Americans who had been evacuated from Lebanon and were trying to get home, but their plane, which stopped in Shannon, had broken down. Some of the Americans recognized Karen Hughes, the assistant secretary of state for public diplomacy. Within minutes she was surrounded by the group, who said they had been traveling for five days and had been at the airport for 24 hours.
“I am so sorry,” she said, sitting at a bar drinking wine.

Wouldn't it have been great if they had just torn her to pieces.

Fratboy-in-Chief makes US irrelevant

We Americans need to realize how important our choice of President is for the whole world. Not just for our country. In the recent past many American voters have voted for a drunk driving, former coke snorting, intellectually light-weight frat boy whose rich and well connected daddy has paved his way in life. Maybe that’s the guy you want to invite to the backyard barbeque and kegger, but we must never again confuse that with electing a president.

Instead of negotiating a political solution in Iraq, he abrogates his responsibility as President, blames the military for his failures, claims that “stay the course” is a strategy and pretends that everything if fine in Iraq – while Americans and Iraqis continue to die and the country descends into a violent civil war.

Now the powder keg that he has ignited in Iraq is spreading calamity throughout the Middle East. And instead of being engaged in finding a solution, he does nothing but shrug his shoulders and say "Syria should get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit." Well, I think that Bush should get Israel to "stop doing this shit."

In the last decades the world has relied on the American President to step in, be a leader, encourage peace and be actively involved in the process of securing peace. Remember Nixon sending Kissinger with his shuttle diplomacy? Remember Carter’s Camp David Accords? Clinton’s engagement with Rabin and Arafat? They all did their job of active engagement in working for peace in the Middle East.

No so, Mr. Bush. He is yet again AWOL – just like when he was in the National Guard. The Middle East is exploding and it’s almost as if that was his plan all along! Oh, wait a minute. Maybe it was!!

Bush and his neocon cohorts are rubbing their hands in glee as their Doomsday Project is succeeding. Journalist Juan Williams accused William Kristol of the Project for the New American Century of wanting "war, war and more war." That sums up the Bush Foreign Policy!

We must impeach Pres. Bush now. I don’t say this lightly, but we must -- not just for our sake, but for the sake of the entire world.

"...Stop Doing This Shit" Bush Declares at G-8 Lunch

"See the irony is that what they need to do is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this shit and it's over." -Bush speaking to Blair while in Russia hobnobbing with other world leaders at the G-8 conference. Makes one proud to be an American knowing that this man, who restored dignity and honor to the oval office, is representing our interests and communicating important policies to some of the world’s most powerful leaders. Don’t worry, be happy!

Give to Wilson Legal Trust and Help Expose All

Donate today to The Joseph and Valerie Wilson Legal Support Trust and watch with glee as the fun begins. Imagine the potential headlines as the Wilson lawsuit intensifies and the legal probing into the lowdown and dirty of the administration is revealed in nitty-gritty detail for the entire world to see. I, for one, will wallow in pleasure upon seeing the salacious minutia of this no good crew plastered across the front page of every newspaper throughout the entire world. I just can’t help myself (obviously the result of living in a society for the past 5 years that has been poisoned by a government who sanctions and perpetuates corruption) but I wish for the pain to be slow and excruciating for those criminals occupying the White House who have made so many others suffer without a care. Don’t wait another moment. Send your dollars today to The Joseph and Valerie Wilson Legal Support Trust. http://www.wilsonsupport.org/

Could It Be Any Clearer?

The United States government is now joined by the government of Israel in a campaign to control the middle east. I use the word government to distinguish between the criminals who are running the show and the people who have been deceived in going along with them. Time is running out to prevent these monsters from taking us into WW3.

Is it any coincidence that the G8 Economic summit is taking place this weekend in St. Petersburg? Remember what happened at the last summit in Scotland? The July 7 London bombings sidetracked any discussion of economic help for the world and put to the front the so-called ant- terrorist agenda of the Bush crime family. That bombing was orchestrated with U.S. and British backing. Don't believe me? There is PLENTY of evidence out there. Look it up. There was a "drill" in the subways that morning. Rudy Giulliani was in London as a consultant for this "drill". But that is old news.

Now, on the eve of this year's summit, we have another "crisis", so once again it is not business as usual. Once again the Bush agenda is on the front burner. This time it's less transparent. The government of Israel has lashed out against Lebanon in the name of fighting Hezbollah while claiming that Syria and Iran are to blame. The PEOPLE of Israel need to oppose this charade. The government of the United States has proclaimed it's support of Israel's right to "defend" itself and has indicated it holds Syria and Iran responsible. The PEOPLE of the United States need to oppose further aggression by their government.

We can no longer sit on the sidelines watching, while blatant aggresion is filtered for mass consumption on the corporate media stations. We need to rise up. We need to act.

Start talking OPENLY to people in your community. Brainstorm.Demonstrate!

We no longer have the luxury to sit back and shake our heads.

Independence Day 2006?

This day in history was once a day of celebration but no longer can we celebrate our freedom as the tyrannical rulers who occupy our White House continue to remove and deny the freedom given to us from the blood of our forefathers. Red, white and blue drape the homes on the quiet streets in my neighborhood, masking the horror we have unleashed, unprovoked in Iraq. Fireworks light up the dark sky in celebration of our independence as we pretend to wipe the violent occupation of Iraq from our minds.

Our illegal government wants us to believe the brave men and women of the military fight in Iraq to defend our right to a free life here at home. Bullshit! The only danger to our freedom is Bush and his band of merry men. They preach fear through lies while draping themselves in red, white and blue, desecrating the flag.

The make believe life of freedom in America goes on, round and round, weaving us all in a web of deception. The ignorance and silence of people all around me frightens me. If I can see it, why can’t they? And if they do, why are they not doing anything about it? But what am I doing to restore the freedoms stolen from my children? Maybe everyone else just feels helpless like me.

But, wait, I see hope. Hurray for CODEPINK and women like Medea Benjamin who are bringing attention and giving a voice to the anti war majority. Tonight they do not celebrate with fireworks but instead fast in protest in front of the White House. I see hope in their courage and action and believe we cannot and will not sit in despair and be silent much longer.
